entities whose main activity consists of processing operations which, due to their nature, scope or purposes, require regular and systematic monitoring of data subjects on a large scale,
entities whose main activity involves large-scale processing of special categories of personal data or personal data relating to criminal convictions and offences,
public authorities or entities.

  • According to the GDPR, a person acting as a DPO should have appropriate professional qualifications, in particular knowledge of data protection law and practices:
    detailed knowledge of GDPR,
    knowledge of national, European and sectoral regulations and practices in the field of personal data protection,
    knowledge of processing processes, IT systems and security measures used by the administrator,
    knowledge of the sector in which the administrator operates,
    knowledge of administrative procedures and functioning of a given company.
